Artist Connie L. Maxey:
At less than three years of age, Connie lost her 21 year old father in an accident. His memory was kept alive by her young mother who saved his ‘treasures’ in an old cedar chest. Aware of her tiny daughter’s loss, Connie’s mother enabled her to know her father, helping her ‘step into’ the drawings he left behind. "OUR DREAM HOME" drew Connie in and she was able to ‘walk thru each room’ ... 'dreaming of the possibilities' of a life that might have been. The power of this simple pencil sketch inspired Connie to continue her father’s legacy throughout her life, passing the love of art to her daughters and granddaughters.
Using her God given abilities and while experimenting with various mediums such as oil and pencil, Connie discovered a wonderful sense of creative freedom and the power of movement with Watercolor. She paints a variety of subject matter, most giving meaning to her own life. Some are colorful, fun expressions of thoughts or feelings. Others are soulful inspiration. Perhaps your own life will be brightened by her work and you too will be brought to a place of remembrance and reflection, leaving you - 'dreaming of the possibilities'.
