Artist's Bio:Peggy Jessop was born in Long Beach, CA on February 12, 1925. As far back as she can remember, she has wanted to oil paint. After her children were raised and moved out on their own, she went in search of an art teacher. In 1976 Peggy began studying under Artist, Alberta Babcock, whose work she admired very much. she started out painting various subjects and even tried different mediums, but found her true love to be in painting with oils. In 1980, Peggy began studying under Artist, Sharon Rachal, also in Southern California. She began selling her work at art shows and created commissioned work for office complexes, businesses, and individuals. Peggy moved to Red Bluff in 1985 and joined the Red Bluff Art Association two years later. She is now the president of the Association, and enjoys her once a week get togethers with other artists to paint. Peggy has won numerous awards at shows and competitions for her work. |
